How do I sign up as a restaurant?
You can download our App from the Apple Store or Play Store by searching Last Minute Driver. From here you can sign up as a restaurant. Registration only takes 2 minutes and you can use our service straight away once sign up is complete.
Restaurant - What equipment do I need?
Our app is designed to work best through a Tablet that would sit with it's screen on ready to be used.
How do I request a courier?
We have made our process as simple as possible. All you have to do is type in the address where the food is to go along with a contact number for the customer, you will be asked if the order is pre-paid or cash. Click confirm and that is it!! We will then send a courier to your restaurant who will collect the order and take the food to your customer. If cash has been selected, the courier will pay for the order in advance. It really is that seemless!
At what point of the order should I request a courier?
When your order is being packed and will be ready to be collected as soon as the courier arrives. We like to keep our couriers moving therefore if you request one too early, the courier will wait for 5 minutes before deciding to decline the order. But don't worry, we will send another one to you.
How long does it take for a courier to show once requested?
Our app will request for couriers that are closest to your restaurant. We have a strict rule that couriers must only accept orders if they can immediately head towards your location. If the app detects any delay in reaching you, it will send for another courier.
I have two orders going in the same direction. Will one courier take both?
Yes, we allow couriers to take up to two orders from your restaurant at one time if they are heading in the same direction. Follow the normal courier request process for both orders and our app will offer the second order to the courier.
The customer has pre-paid a tip to the courier. How do we pay them?
At the moment any pre-paid tips should be paid directly to the courier at time of pick up. We are currently working on having all tip’s paid through the app at the time of request to save everyone time. We will advise you when this update has been rolled out.
How do Cash Orders work?
Once you accept a cash order, our courier will pay for the order on arrival which may include food and drinks, service charges and a delivery charge.
Example:
Food And Drinks: £10.99
Service Charge: £0.50
Delivery Charge £2.49
Total To pay £13.98
What happens if a Cash Order is undeliverable?
If a cash order is undeliverable by the courier, they will return to the restaurant with the order. Our couriers should be refunded all monies paid for the order, including any service charge or delivery charge. Please note that the courier will be paid for the entirety of their journey, which will subsequently be charged to the restaurant. To avoid further charges, it is therefore up to the restaurant to satisfy themselves that all cash orders accepted are genuine.
If the customer calls to advise they missed the courier, you can request a secondary courier from our app using the normal process.
Our customer has advised that they have not received their order but it show's as being delivered. What do we do?
You can request help regarding any order by sending an e-mail to restaurants@lastminutedriver.info. Please include the order number and any relevant details for us to investigate. We will respond once our investigation has been completed.
Courier FAQs
How do I sign up as a courier?
You can download our App from the Apple Store or Play Store by searching Last Minute Driver. From here you can sign up as a courier. You will be required to verify your identity and we will need to ensure that you are properly insured if you are using a vehicle. Once we have approved your account you can start earning right away.
Courier – What equipment do I need?
An Android or iOS device with a sufficient data package plan. A charger for your device and a suitable cradle to sit your device in when driving. You will also need a commercial thermal bag to put your deliveries inside.
What Transport can I use?
You can sign up as a courier with a bicycle, moped/scooter or a car. If you are using a motor vehicle, you must be insured with 'Hire & Reward' insurance which we will request proof of at the time of registration. You can purchase insurance from our insurance partner or you can provide your certificate of motor insurance if you already have it in place. If you are using a bicycle, moped or scooter you must also have suitable protective clothing.
With all modes of transport, you are responsible for abiding by all traffic laws at all times.
How do I get orders?
Orders are given to couriers that are closest to the restaurants who request our service. Ensure you mark yourself as ‘Online’ and are ready to immediately go to your destination once you accept an order. Once you have accepted an order, you will be shown a route to the restaurant where you can collect the order and deliver it to the customer. Once completed, you will be eligible to receive further orders.
Can I get more than one order at once?
Yes, we allow our couriers to take up to 2 orders from the same restaurant if they are going in the same direction.
When do I get paid?
You will receive payment each Friday, this will include all orders that were completed between Monday - Sunday from the previous week.
Bank Holidays may delay payment until the next banking day.
How do Cash Orders work?
At the time of registration, you will be asked if you would like to accept Cash Orders as well as Pre-Paid Orders.
If you decide to choose cash orders, you are to ensure that you carry enough cash to fulfil these types of orders from our restaurant network.
When arriving at the restaurant, you will pay the restaurant for the order. This may include food and drinks order, service charge, delivery charge. You will then recuperate this amount direct from the customer.

What if a Cash Order is undeliverable?
If a customer has not answered the door and all phone call attempts have gone unanswered, you should return to the restaurant with the order and receive a full refund.
You will also receive payment for the entirety of your journey.
How do I receive tips?
Customers may tip you at the door. Customer’s may also pre-tip by paying the restaurant direct. You may see these tips on some online ordering platforms. Before leaving the restaurant, you should check the receipt to confirm if the customer has pre-tipped the restaurant and request from the restaurant direct.
We are currently working on the allowing restaurants to pass this pre-tip direct to the courier through the app when requesting a courier. We will advise you when this update has been rolled out.
